Brian’s Sub Zero 3 Goalie Pads
Brian’s Custom Sports recently showcased their latest goal pads via Instagram, which brought excitement to goalies everywhere. The announcement came courtesy of Jaroslav Halak outfitted in his brand new Brian’s Sub Zero 3 Goalie Pads.
According to the Instagram post, the new Brian’s Sub Zero 3 goalie pads will be a tremendous improvement upon the last generation. The Sub Zero 3 pads will be extremely lightweight, and Brian’s has continued to enhance the craftsmanship, innovation, and performance levels.
The Brian’s Sub Zero 3 pads have been engineered to have a more gradual s-curve than the previous generation of Sub Zero pads. This will give the pad a flatter design from boot to thigh rise. The Sub Zero 3 pads will also have a medium flex below the knee and a harder flex above the knee. The boot break, however, will utilize Brian’s Hyper-Flex 4 boot construction. This is Brian’s softest break, and will allow for a much deeper flex in that area which will help to improve rebound control and lateral movement.
The inside edge of the Brian’s Sub Zero 3 goal pads will feature a thinner pad profile complete with optimally placed stitch lines to enhance slide. The knee stack will also be slightly wider and work better with the goalies knee through a slight inset. Ideally, this helps goalies to drive the pad to the ice more quickly which will provide a quicker seal.
Beyond all that, Brian’s has managed to eliminate even more weight from the Sub Zero 3 pads. The new Brian’s Sub Zero 3 goalie pads will have a 10% weight reduction compared to the previous generation.
The picture below offers a good look at the new design on the Brian’s Sub Zero 3 pads, specifically outfitted in the New York Islanders color scheme. Once released, the pads will be available in a variety of different customizable color schemes. The price of the Brian’s Sub Zero 3 goalie pads will come in at $1699.99.
Speaking of release, the post notes that the new Brian’s Sub Zero 3 pads will be released in November 2015. Can’t wait until then? Check out the shot of the new Brian’s Sub Zero 3 pads below and drop us a note in the comments with your thoughts on the updated look!
