Marc-Andre Fleury Has a Save of the Year Contender

The number of days left in 2016 may be limited, but that didn’t stop Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury from offering a late entry for save of the year.

After an Adam Henrique shot was deflected and sent flying over Fleury’s head, he quickly got up, spun around, and made an incredible diving effort to swat the puck out of midair with his paddle.

If you haven’t seen this save yet, you have to check it out below:

While Fleury’s numbers haven’t been too terrific this season, the Penguins netminder has managed to help his team to a 10-5-4 record while he has been in net. Matt Murray has been excellent ahead of him, but Fleury is still out to prove that he belongs as a number one goaltender and that should help his trade value come March.
